Parish Pot luck - May 9th, cancelled

posted Apr 29, 2019, 7:51 AM by Peggy Perrin   [ updated Apr 29, 2019, 7:52 AM ]

Unfortunately, due to Father Brian's passing, the Council has cancelled the Family potluck that was scheduled for May 9th.  This was a particular favourite of Father Brian and it was felt that it would be unfair to take this on without a priest in place yet.  Thank you to everyone who was planning on attending.

Ongoing Fifth Disease

posted Apr 18, 2019, 1:56 PM by Peggy Perrin

We continue to have cases of Fifth Disease confirmed in the school.  If your child presents with red cheeks, what is refered to as a "slapped cheek" then we will contact you.  Thank you to all the parents who have followed up to inform us that their doctor has confirmed fifth disease.  As we have pregnant teachers without immunity to the disease, it is imperative that we track all cases.  Information can be found at https://www.caringforkids.cps.ca/handouts/fifth_disease.  Your cooperation is truly appreciated.

Fifth Disease, Parvovirus B19

posted Apr 8, 2019, 12:04 PM by Peggy Perrin

We have confirmed cases of Fifth Disease, Parvovirus B19, in the school.  If you are pregnant and do not have immunity to Fifth Disease, you should not enter the school.  Signs of fifth include red cheek(s) that is often described as the look of a "slapped" cheek.  The child is no longer infectious when the rash appears so children are not excluded.  Please inform the school if you notice this symptom in your child as we do have staff who are not immune.  You can find further information about this at: https://www.caringforkids.cps.ca/handouts/fifth_disease  If you are pregnant, you may wish to consult with your doctor prior to entering the school to ensure you have immunity.
